In anticipation of my first ride of the year, I decided to jump on my skateboard and try to get my sealegs back under me. I took a little running start out of the garage, made big bottom turn down the driveway, aired it out off the transition from driveway to sidewalk and into the street. Upon landing, I think I hit a rock because the board just stopped. I didn't. I flew forward and stuck my left elbow and right palm right into the street. It had been a while since I had a good hard skate crash. It f'n hurt but, all I could do was laugh. First turn of the day and I wad myself up. It was funny.
Ya dude, I'm a little sore today. Scabbed up left elbow, really sore right wrist and a bruised left hip. A good little dose of humanity. I actually feel good knowing I can still go out and crash. Let's me know I'm not being a pansy.
I think I'll pass on the whole non-pansy verification! The water was cold to me, high 50's through the main part of the lake and in the deeper areas. James was in a wetsuit and I was in a semi-drysuit. It reminds you that you have nerve endings on your feet and hands!
Looking forward to getting you out behind the boat, Nick.
