    Wave Shaper by Hasbros'

My version of the wave shaper...what were calling the wave scraper. It's close to what Duffy made 'cept we used heavier metal on the leading edge (as Duff' suggested)

I bought some 3 ply half inch conveyor belt rubber from a commercial place in reno. Very STIFF. Teh stuff is not cheap either. A 4x1 piece cost darn near 50 bux. It's exactly what I wanted so I didn't complain...too much

    Used all stainless hardware

trimmed the rubber to follow the hull. I covers the entire FAE exaust.

I used some serious 2"x1/2" alu alloy for the leading edge and rear mount/support. I think it's 7075 t6..we pulled it off the metal pile at the local marina for a 12 pack...let me tell ya mother of god it's HARD. I'ts tough just like the swim deck frame and we broke 2 drill bits in the build (even though we used 2 pilot holes per hole..sh*t is buff). It's surprisingly heavy too.

The jury is out on performance. We ran once with it but it got rough and we never really got an idea if it works to smooth out the wave..and FAE fluff

went out this am. I thinks it needs to be wider..like 6-8 inches on each side. I'm still getting fluff off the stern

We're gonna go again this eve. I'll have more feedback then

I don't get it? What does the mud flap idea solve - assume it cosmetically cleans the wake up?

Just out of curiousity; if CO2 is a major concern when surfing then why have none of the manufactuers knocked off the FAE concept? Seems if there were potential liability they would do something to mitigate risk given they are designing boats for surfing.

Its CO (Carbon Monoxide) that is the dangerous gas. Centurion did an exhaust setup that you could switch the outlet from one side to the other depending on what side you surfed on. Dont think it was a hit and dont believe its still offered.

Sometimes you get spray off the FAE. This flap stops the spray and wash. At least it has on my boats. FAE is patented and I am sure something is in the works.

thanks for that video Duff'..very nice

So we went out for a spin early today. The wave wasn't that big but it was clean. We were goin for a real loooooong wave to see how far we could pump out of it. The TAPS was pinned and we were going 14 mph..flyin.

The scraper DOES clean up the FAE slop for sure. These aren't the best pics. Tommorow my buddy will shoot some quality stuff and i'll post them.

We also had no spotter again. We could have used that extra weight. We got Joey's cousin Vinnie to stand in as 'spotter'. He's not as stylish as Joey but got the job done

I'll see what I can do manana'. We're out again but with a bigger crew

I will say when your surfing you used to see this slop come off the drive/exaust area and mess up the begining of the wave..real irritating. Now it's pretty much gone. I always had a nice clean wave though.

Cool, I can how they can help, but so far I don't think anyone has shown the problem this device fixes. Would love to see before and after.

personally I think you can make them bigger/wider/stiffer to actually affect the wake more. I don't know if I'll get into that this year. My boat's gettin put away for the winter 'bout Halloween...but next spring we plan to make a few prototypes

Well I always thought one made of stainless. And use rams or turnbuckles.
