    New to Wakesurfing and skating...

Finally got a skate and surf... so stoked! Just ordered an Obrien Wakeskate and an Obrein Alias Wakesurfer ( 4'6" - I'm 170lbs- wet ) 2010 model for 179.99... Best deals I could find for a biginner that will want a more intermediate setup incase I'm a natural..

From my research.. and my budget.. these appeared to be the best bang for my buck... bought a 20 ft rope as well as a helmet for my wakeboarding... lately the falls from 10 feet in the air hurt from every angle and I think that this may help break the fall... I hope!

Let me know what you think!

Careful on the helmet thing.... Wrong helmet will pop your eardrum. Check with SkySkiers... they see it the most because of the sideways falls.
So this monkey walks into a bar...

Damn.. really.. I think I got a Liquid Force one.. is it a certain brand or style? I guess I'll see what the site say too since you put it up there.. Do you think it is safer not to use one.. I'm just worried about racking my head on the board..

Many of the watersports helmets can come with ear protectors, which are supposed to help prevent ruptured eardrums. I'm not sure on LF brand, but usually the descriptions of the helmets will include mention of ear protectors if they are available.

No ear things but it seemed okay in the description... They sad one with the ear covers but I wasn't sure I wanted to cover my ears.. I don't see how it is any different for your ears with or without the helmet since the helmet is made for your head.. then again there has to be a reason they put them on there too....

The reason to put it on your head is because you paid good money for it. Check around... I will see which one my kid was wearing, but many have told me it's the helmet's fault.
