what rpm do you surf at?

I've been running 2k in ballast and that puts me at 3100rpm @10.8mph ,seems high

RPM at 2600-2800 but w 1000-1400 lbs and 07 22Ve w factory prop. 2800 gets 10.5 mph at TAPs 5. not sure that helps but gives some other reference. Still playing w the new ballast.

Depends alot on weight, prop, etc.

With my old stock prop I was running at around 2500rpm.

Now with my new prop I have about 1800lbs of ballast total and running anywhere from 2700-3200RPM Something as simple as a 150lbs guy getting off the boat to surf and the 200lbs surfer getting in the boat (50lbs more in boat now) and I'll go from say 2700 to 2750RPM. My speedo doesn't work but when I GPS it with my iPhone, it shows about 11.5MPH
      Waiting for another good one!

How do you have that 2500 arranged?

1800 in the back corner, 200 in lead on the surf side floor, 250 on the swim deck and 500 in the bow. I know that sacs don't fill all the way so i was guessing at 2500

Only filled port side (1300)with 4 people and vent is barely above water when riding and dips under too much ,had to move some peeps over but got rpm down to 2800 @10.8 and would reach 13+ if needed ,so subtracting the 700 from the starboard made the difference ,still waiting on 1235

Yesterday I ran 800 in the rear (400 ea. side both full), two chicks, two little kids, one dude. Always just one dude in VAB P1. 2100 rpm. Still have two functioning Airguide's but I haven't calibrated them in at least three years. We just pull a tach # on the first run and tune from there if need be.

Ok first run with my new prop(1235) a lot more range loaded ,big difference everywhere .rode with only 3 people and had lot better holeshot but the wave was really long and dirty above 10.2 but I can now exceed 11 no problem ,actually 30+ .think I can add more weight now.any other rz4 owners with a 1235 out there with setup tips

Setup = 2009 RZ2 with 409 and cat; 1235 prop; 1000 lb rear port locker; 250 lb (?)rear port stock tank; 300 lb port bow (i.e., 3/4 filled 400 lb sack under port bow seat); 100 lb brick strapped to platform; driver starboard; two adults port bench. Water on the rub rail when under way.

                      10.5 mph ~3000rpm (Hyperlight Swell)
                      11.5 mph ~3200rpm (IS Blue)
                      12.5 mph ~3500rpm (WP F-18)
