    Legal? Surfing behind an i/o.

Just curious if anyone knows if surfing behind i/o boats is illegal anywhere. I have seen a few boats lately pulling kids that are trying to learn to surf behind their 27+ ft cabin cruiser i/o boats. Makes me cringe every time, but I guess there is no "legal" problem with it?

F?;#kin tell them to STOP. Having someone thinking that it is safe to surf behind an I/O drive, but having kids back there.

So so so many people on my lake do it. I always say something but no one listens. Someone is gonna get hurt bad before something changes.

There's a MENTAL problem with it.

It's idiots like that, doing something stupidly, that ruin things for the rest of us.

I gotta believe that comes under "negligent operation" or "dangerous operation" which has gotta be illegal. Any police/law enforcement on here?

LOL... you could have gotten a REALLY REALLY nice v-drive day cruiser with a GIANT wake for 25 grand.

I haven't heard of any injuries sustained in surfing accidents involving an I/O. You'd think that if it is sodangerous, there would be news?
                Anyone heard of it yet?

When it becomes news, it's too late. People are already dead and the laws are on their way to shut it all down, whether you have a decent boat or not.

You freaked me out. We our heading back to NH for the summer and we've been enjoying getting into wakesurfing. I just ordered some sacs too. I looked online and found a link explaining that it's NOT illegal (I'm going with that). Here's the link I found:
