We've been tossing around new board options for a while now and would like to hear your thoughts about the new IS Mucus. We're looking for a good all around board that we can progress with, yet be stable enough for the beginners. Seems like this would be a great board for that. We were set on a tri fin design for beginner stability...do you think the two fins on the Mucus would be stable enough?

A twin fin set up is plenty stable. There are tons of beginners that ride skims to start and have no problems. I personally think a thruster set up is over kill in my opinion for wakesurfing.
I have yet to demo the Mucus, but the shape seems really promising. Just from looking at it, it seems like it might ride better than the Sweet Spot in my opinion. And the price is a lot nicer.www.wake.victoriaskimboards.com

A thruster is good to start with, for that "training wheel" effect. It helps a lot of beginners. That really is the only use of the thruster in wakesurfing. Keep it in until you can handle the twin and rip it out.
I def like having thruster boards on the boat, depending on the rider. Better rider, twin, begginer, 3rd fin in. We also have 2 sizes of rear fin on the boat. 3.5 inch for extra stability, and then a 2" to loosen it up a bit, then yank it out.http://wake9.com/

Ragboy, has your crew had the chance yet to rip on the mucus? Since it comes with 9cm fins, I'm thinking it'll probably be okay for the newbies...although maybe not as ideal as a tri-fin.
Looks like it'll be a great board to grow into. Too bad it doesn't have the optional/removable 3rd fin, however. I wonder how hard it would be to retrofit a removable 3rd fin?

FYI, I saw this over on centurion crew. $325 for mucus and $250 for a squirt! Pretty good deal
