James signature from Inland Surfer

Thanks Nick...yeah I really am, he's turned into quite the fine young man.

@petrey - it's similar to an arch bar. There is that raised part in the front pad and also on the tail. It's raised so that it fits in the arch of your foot, hence the name. I believe they were first popularized on skim boards in the ocean. They typically don't use a front pad, just the arch bar by itself. James likes the arch because in most of his airs his feet are off the board, so he knows immediately if he has come down a tad off and also, it sort of aligns his foot...almost like it forces the foot to go back into the right position.

James has been using a Beaker from arch for almost 5 years now.

One of the production boards arrived today and I wanted to weigh and measure it. I know that most folks equate Inlands with 8 pounds boards, so this is a major deviation from their previous boards.

The original FlyBoy Wakesurf boards were spec'ed to be 5 pounds with fins and traction, but being hand made they ranged from 5 to about 5 lbs 8 oz. The Flyboy division we just got weighs in at 5 lbs 7.8 oz So it's consistent with the original FlyBoy Wakesurf boards. Hopefully I've posted a picture of an original and then the two pictures of the scales. Those are without fins, but includes traction.

ooooops. Ok so that last picture above is the Flyboy Divison resting on the rocker bed that I use to manufacture all the prototypes. It matches up.

Ok now the scale for the Flyboy divison?????

Crappy pictures as I weighed the fins, but they are within 0.3 oz. We used Futures and Inland manufactures their own.

Is the IS Flyboy signature model a little too small for 195-200 lbs?

Yeah Duncan, I'd put the upper limit at 180. I'm 200 and ride it, but it feels too small for me. Oh! and thanks!

Yeah I hear you on the cost. The retail price at CMS is nowhere near the suggested retail price, I think I overheard them say $699. So while not cheap, it's in line with other boards in that performance level, actually I think cheaper than some. In fact that's cheaper than we could sell the originals for...hell it's almost what the originals cost to make!

That is less than I thought, Still not in my non-existent board budget but, that is actually pretty good for a real board.

I thought you were going to work out an infallable formula for winning the lottery?! Oh man! My retirement plans included that! Tough economic times these days and nothing seems to be cheap.

Jeff Page was in Parker, AZ for the Centurion 2012 photo shoot...I'm not sure what it is, but it was everyone connected to Centurion out riding

He posted this picture of Keenan Flegal (2010 WWSC Champion) riding James' board from that photo shoot, on Facebook. Keenan has a sigg'y model also that utilizes the same composite sandwich construction as the original FlyBoy's and James IS sigg'y board.
