BTW, he immediately bought one after that. He had previously been cruising on a HL landlock 5'11".

I think the biggest issue is the start. This same guy I was talking about usually starts on the platform so he doesn't have to leg press the board during a flip start. i convinced him to go back to it and we developed a system where we flip the board early at just a hair higher than idle, drag for a second and then slowly ease up the throttle. In reality, with this, you are standing before you exit the water and it is easier on your joints, the biggest problem for us big boys. using the flow of water to keep the board against your feet, you can extend your legs as mush as you need to before getting the necessary pull to get you out.

Hugely defamatory towards Robert and Wake9.com. I absolutely hate Plaintiff's attorney's and hope they rot in hell, but there is clearly libel involved in those posts. The owner of that site participated and there are posts on that site by presumed employees of Fineline and Centurion. I wonder if Mr. Lee has see the thread yet?

California's 6th circuit has found that defamatory postings on the Internet are libel, not slander, under California law and plaintiffs may collect damages for them without demonstrating specific injury.

Plaintiffs suing for slander must prove special damages, while in libel—defined by Sec. 45 as defamation by “writing, printing, picture, effigy, or other fixed representation to the eye”—damages are presumed.

Do we have any scum-of-the-earth...er, I mean Plaintiff's Attorney's on TO.com? Is that thread actionable?
My wife is a plaintiff's attorney. However, the law in Ohio is many times different than that of the left coast. Nonetheless, I'll see what she thinks, and since it's on the internet, what the true jurisdiction is.

Present company excepted, of course Robert posted on that thread that he was OK with the original content, so it has become a moot question.

Not exactly OK with it, but its the internet, and it also seemed like if I did go the lawsuit route, it had the ability of making this thing get worse, polarizing groups even more, etc. In the end, it seems pretty much diffused, and I actually have a couple of new friends from that group. And I think for the most part, we came to a consensus that I am pretty pleased with. I guess I may have a few fat sacs out there named after me, but I can live with that. ;-)

They are working a plywood prototype to test a concept. I will post pics when I have them. Kids started school now, so we are getting out at different times.

LOL, I figured out how to deep water start, and the boat pulled me up, but its not big enough to float me, just tears my arms out. But Jeff is building me a plywood test board so we can go from there.

But the nubbin worked great, even pulling me out of the water.

I've been lurking in this thread and wondering if there is any updates?

Should have a prototype ready to ride this weekend. Need a new jigsaw blade. The concept is that we want the board to sink, so that Robert isn't forced to flip the board and then BLAST forward/up to planing speed. The hope is that by allowing the board to be neutrally bouyant, Robert can stand on it and then just focus on keeping the nose UP. If the board is wide enough, it should plane fairly easily and quickly.

That being said, it most likely will have a rather unorthodox shape, which means it won't turn worth a crap, but also won't fight Robert as he tries to get up on the board.

I want to christen the board Stop Hate, in honor of a quote I enjoy by George Bernard Shaw:

"Hatred is the coward's revenge for being intimidated."

Ok so get it out of your system right now! This is the conceptualization. The front or nose of the board is similar to those big guy ski's, the extra area give it's something to plane on. Most likely I'll need to "refine" that shape, but you get the idea. The tail is narrower, to aid in sinking during the pull up.

So it might work, or not - thank God's it's Robert's arms!
