Inland Surfer sells them for $360. but at physical shops you can probably find them lower.

I "think" that SS has changed the name of that skim to the LE III, OR there is a separate proto floating around. After talking with Dominic at WWSC and NWWSA he was saying he wasn't riding for SS, so...name change is my guess.

        Did you see those channels?!

It's a nice looking board. I sure would like to ride one.

Speaking of nice, that is probably the nicest surf wake I've ever seen from a 'Bu. Did you guys notice how much of the platform was it the water?

And what is your opinion on skim boards with channels? seems odd. i already know your opinion on regal skimboards

I don't know how a channel would work with a skimmer. I'd have to think that prototype is a surfboard blank with a stringer and the channel is shaped in. P5 uses divinycell and that is floppy as a wet noodle, so the rocker is "pressed" in with a mold or vacuum while the resin cures. Maybe if the channel was shaped and the board was pressed upside down on a reverse rocker table. Shaping the prototype out of EPS or PolyU would be tons easier.

For a typical skimmer, that foam is so floppy that it takes a bunch of layers to stiffen it up, typically 3 layers of 6 oz. If you cut a channel into it, the right angles will help stiffen it up from longitudinal flex, somewhat. Not sure how much though.

I'd think it would negate the basic function of the design, like you noted Mitch...wanting to hang it up on rotations, at least somewhat.

At a local wakeboarding clinic this morning, Chad Brown was singing the praises of the Hyperlite Swell (with a smaller fin). Anyone familiar with the Swell?

I've been wanting to try it. We have no real board shop anymore so, I would have to buy it to try it. Otherwise I would demo one for sure.

We need to develop an effective demo policy. Where you can rent the board or something plus shipping, and then if you don't return it within whatever the rental period is, the shop bills you for the full price. I'd think that would actually be more profitable for a retailer than a straight sale, except for all the shipping crap.

the shipping would be pretty crazy. shippign a surfboard each way is pretty pricy, also the boards are fragile.

CMS has tons of surf demos for the locals, but we wouldnt ship any demos out.

What people need to do is support their local shops and get them to carry surf brands. If someone is going to buy a shred stixx off slayshtank they could instead just go to their local shop and place the order. it takes nothing for the shop to become a dealer. most shops dont know wakesurfing is as big as it is because wakesurfers dont go to shops.
