RAGBOY used 1/2''.... I don't know if I can get 3/8 or 1/2... trust me I would love to but my best supply is 3/16''

for the platform pad I will most likely be using white gator grip... pretty good price and I am hoping to maybe paint or powder coat the platform and brackets...

let me know what you guys think!! This is my winter project

Maybe you could double up the 3/16 and get yourself to 3/8?

alright i might look into that... i have the resources.... but i was now thinking about using 3/4'' ply and then sealing the wood with rhino lining or polyurethane as that would be pretty strong also and smooth on the bottom which is what is needed... Can you round the edges of 3/4'' ply and make it look good?

Okay... finally my new deck is done. I decided to keep my old deck and brackets together so I could swap out decks easily.

I used treated 2x10's for the deck. The top of the new deck sits just below the grab rail on the transom, almost like I planned it that way.

I was really hoping to test it out on Saturday or Sunday but our weather here sucked! Crazy windy, cold and rainy.

Maybe tonight? I'll post pics of the new wake and deck as soon as I get out.

I was thinking about the danger of having a high deck... my buddy has an Epic 23V. His deck is always at least 6" above the water.

The Epics do have a high deck. When we finally got my buddy's weighted properly for surfing, that deck was still a good 2" above the water.

Just need a 3/8" bull nose bit on a router. Set it at 5/16" depth and route away on both sides.

And then I forgot a camera.

I was able to go out and test the new "high" swim deck last night. 4 adults in boat (600 lbs ?), 760 lbs in rear locker, 150 lbs front. Swim deck was still inches above the water line, wake was clean and really tall. With absolutely no foam it's amazing how you can see the taps really change the shape of the wake.

I'll still post some pics when I get the chance.

I was thinking about this project when I saw a bass boat with the adjustable mounting bracket that raises the engine up/down, independent of the power trim. It would be expensive as heck but it would be cool to design a swim platform with hydraulic or electric brackets that could raise/lower the swim platform at will. Then you get the utility of a big platform for the kids and the performance of the smaller custom platform for surfing. I would pay up to 1500 bucks for such a feature if it were available.

I'll design the system. Any manufacturers?

Yeah I know. Too excited to get out and try the modification. I usually invite a photographer friend of mine to come out... dang, I should've called him.
