Yesterday I got to try out a 4'8" Grindwater Slaysh and was really dissapointed. I normally ride a 2004 HL Broadcast, which is also 4'8". The Slaysh felt like I was riding with flat tires and dragging an anchor. It took so much effort to stay in the pocket that I wasn't able to do anything else. After giving it a good ten minutes of riding I swapped it out for the Broadcast and was immediately able to cut, stall, drop back and spin a few 3s again.
Is this just how these surf style boards ride? Do I need to change the way I ride or wake?
