Just another Sunday - more fun with the GoPro video cam

We had a lot of fun this weekend surfing and using the GoPro camera to get what we think are some cool angles. My music selection isn't the best, I'm no ragboy at video compilation and we aren't the caliber of riders that you see posted here most of the time(James Walker/ RJ Garcia/ etc) but we had a lot of fun! We are making progress...

I think that's so cool! How did you mount the go pro? It seems like it's a 20 foot long stick!

awesome video. how fast are you surfing? we usually surf around 10-11 mph but it looks like you are going faster than that.

Believe it or not it's just a ski pole (snow skiing). I think the gopro has a fish eye lens which makes it seem like it's way out there.

Speed was 11.2, taps between 3-4 on the port side. For starboard side the speed was 11.0 and taps was at 5 when he was riding the yellow and then 10.6 and taps at 4 for the blue board.

I had to try it also! I didn't have the gopro set up so I just took a stick and some duct tape!

That worked pretty good! The gopro has a fish eye lens which probably helps out a ton!

Yeah - the gopro is the way to do it. I have one, I just need to stick some batteries in it.

My buddy used some of that insulating tape and wrapped it around the pole to make the pole big enough around for the gopro mount to work.

My buddy Clint took a couple of pics of the setup to share:

Here's how he used the setup, note that your foot may not be as big or leg as long as Clints' so you might get a different angle

I think I'd put a leash or SUMTHIN on that camera. That would be one expensive donation to the bottom of the lake! lol
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

It's on a pole, does that count? I think they float too. It's clamped on there pretty danged good and the ski pole has a strap on it that is around his wrist.

It would float ... but for being clamped to a heavy pole
