wakesurf weighting and taps setting

got a 2008 22ve specifically for surfing, got jumbo surf sacs
(1100lbs each) in both rear compartments and integrated bow sac in front (750lbs). Need some tips on speed, taps setting and weighting the boat.
I'm a big guy, about 225lbs and can't seem to stay pushed by the wake, have to hold the rope??? using a hyperlite 5'6" board, so I should be set! Help!!! Thanks team tige!!

For us, we found the wake to be the best at atleast 10.5 MPH, TAPS @ 4-5 and all our ballast in the back on the surf side. Adding bow weight and/or speeding up with lengthen the pocket, but does reduce the wave height and push.

I am having the same problem. We have a 2006 22ve, 450 lb sac at the back corner. My buddy sat on the back corner as well.

On Saturday, I surfed with no rope for about 100 feet, but otherwise I had problems being pushed enough to keep up with the boat.

What was your speed, TAPS setting, board, and your weight? It does make a difference

I had the front u-shaped bag filled, and the back jumbo v-drive sac filled to about 80%. Cruising at around 11.5mph and taps at 5?? Still not getting the push I was hoping for, any ideas??

Dump the front, fill the rear full and slow down. That Jumbo is probably giving you a good 800 lbs in the rear, that will produce a good wake in a 22Ve.

Also the board, stance and foot placement will have a lot to do with it as well. Do you have a pick of you riding?

Like chpthril said, dump the front(Ve's and RZ's don't need a lot of front weight if any at all) and then take your speed down too. I would probably roll around 10.6-10.8 for that Hyperlite board. Use the taps to clean up the face, could be anywhere from 3 to 6 at that speed. I've found that more taps gives you more wave height but less drive so we are usually in the 3-4 range on the taps.

Differend hull but with my 22v i fill my jumbo sac full(8-900lbs) and i also have a integrated bow sac which i fill about 1/2. put everybody on one side and usually taps is between 1-4 depending on how many people we have. It really seems like the taps above 4 with my boat makes the wake wash out really bad. Like i said, it is a different boat though. I don't know how similar the wake characteristics are.

got it dialed, slowed way down to 9.7 and loaded the back and added a surf sac on the back corner, dumped the front totally but moved the taps to 2. Sick curl, big push, I'm in heaven, thats why I spent the dough and got the Tige!

I would suggest getting a board made for you. Look at Shred Stixx. they do custom boards and well help you design one that well fit your body size and style of riding. These are TRUE surf boards and by far the best money can buy
