    Mob boards

Has anyone had a chance to ride their boards? Any opinions on them?

The Concept board has an interesting design. I like the shape of the Hybrid Quad.

Rick Rock shapes for MoB. Rock is a stellar shaper and has ghost shaped for most of the large surf manufacturers in So Cal. While the MoB boards are pretty vanilla in construction, Rock has advanced composite skills, he's doing some bagging and the like. That concept board is a great depature from the vast array of "me too" boards that most of the manufacturers offer.

I believe that all of the boards listed at that $450 range are Polyurethane/Polyester - I think most manufacturers have shifted to Epoxy at this stage - P5 is still polyester, Inland Surfer has a polyester gloss or 2 pac and I think you can order polyester as a cheaper option from TWP, SS and the like. Epoxy/EPS will remain livier, longer than PuPe

In the sequence of pictures the guy holding that quad is Josh Sleigh, he's a partner in the MoB group and used to be one of the premier aerial surfers in that Van's tour. An amazing talent. Josh had ridden in the Centurion "event" a few times years ago. He's pretty amazing behind the boat and his collaboration with Rock should produce a legit board.

Josh is a powerful surfer, I'd be concerned with the quad - while it's a great looking board, I'm not sure that normal folks could push it around like Josh can. JL and Josh know wakesurfing thoroughly and are stand up guys, I'm sure they'd put folks on the right board.

All that said - I haven't ridden any of the boards. They are supposed to be headed towards norcal to do demo's if I can, I'll try and attend to get a ride.

Thanks for the info! Are they located in So Cal? I will give them a call and get some more info on the boards and see if that concept board is available to purchase.

I'll bet they have to build the board for you. Yeah they are down around Dana Point somewhere - south Orange County / North San Diego County.

Keep us posted if you pull the trigger on one.
