As we are about to enter spam season, what do you think about manufacturers posting up as random consumers, intentionally misleading folks strictly with the intent of selling more product and advertising on the cheap? Personally, I find these misleading practices abhorent and would never buy a product from any manufacturer that engages in it.

What say you? Do you care if newb's are mislead? Do you have any trouble picking out the used car salesmen?

As a newb myself, I would find the practice repulsive, but how do we find these miscreants?

I defiantly get sick of spam and would like to see a reduction of it. No trouble picking out the spammers here...

I say we as group promptly report spam to a moderator and/or administrator of the forum to delete all spam posts.

The spamming runs rampant on WW. Not just with surf board, but new boat dealers are bad, as well as every tom, richard and harry trying to peddle their inventions.

There is a clear line between a manufacturer (or dealer) wanting to post up whats new for the season and someone hiding behind a screen name and posing as a potential customer either looking for feedback or saying "I just bought this and it AMAZING" which can be seen through like lace undies

Outside of the cell phone and drug spams, I dont see it here, unless it's me that jd is referring to

From my understanding, I thought that if you add comments about a product and you have a working relationship with that company, you have to disclose that relationship. Did I miss something?

I find it rather disturbing that people do this.

From my experience, I don't see much of that here. On wakeworld I had a post about tower speakers and was emailed from a manufacturer offering me a sweet deal if I bought his product. I almost bit because I am cheap and it was a good deal but, I resisted the temptation so I can get the speakers I realy want. I can see why this type of advertising does work. It is not right but, I bet they do get some sales from it.

IF I spoke about wanting to buy XXXX brand item and a dealer sent me an email for said item, I'm fine with that. If I got an email from a totally different brand for a totally different product--that's not so cool. That's a waste of my time.

Sanger boats seems to be pushed hard on WW. I went and checked one out and was not impressed.

Spammers will never be stopped. Don't get a excited before research.

You didn't do it right. You get Dennis aka the Masterweighter with you on a sanger test drive and the wave is monsterous. I still love tige though.

It was the other things that turned me off about sanger 215. Paper thin dash, switches very fragile, carpet was peeling already, and small rear lockers. Liked the bench seat and wish Tige was like theirs. The sanger I looked at looked nice from the outside but then the stuff hit the fan after that for me. Believe me I was dissapointed because I was going to buy because it had all the extras that I will have to get on the Tige. Board racks and bimini top. Also Sanger had stargazer a GPS speedometor which looked impossible to use. Found out later GPS is not a good setup for current and I do hit the rivers. My
