I have the same exact board and weight just five pounds less. If you go below ten mph, the pocket will be extremely small and really close to the boat. The wave will be tall, but you won't get to go back far. If you are only interested in cruising at first, try putting your feet equidistant from the front and back of the board. This will help raise the tail and get much more push. I did this a couple of weekends ago with the same board and it helped a lot.

x2 we ride at 11 on our 24ve because at the lower speeds the wake it soo short that your almost ontop of the boat while surfing.. and i like to have some room to play with

        Wallacmc,
I hear you, when going around 10 I am right on the platform. Last weekend I was able to ride without the rope by putting more weight forward. Yesterday I got a 5.4 Lakewakes board from Mark Webernec. Apparently he reshaped it to make it faster like the 5.2. Can't wait to get it out next weekend!

        Thanks,
        Bryce

          hey Bryce,

You may want to check out the Red Woody from Inland Surfer. It is a pretty popular board so you may find someone that will let you borrow for a demo. I took two short rides on ImaPigDog's last weekend and am hooked. That thing is so much more bouyant and faster than my Broadcast, thye are incomparable. Now I just have to save the coin to get one. My only question now is whether I want a Woody or a Blue Lake, because my cousin who is close to three bills was able to free ride the woody no sweat. I think a smaller board in the inland surfer line might actually be necessary.
