So it arrived - it's orange and not pink - hope Tyson's daughter isn't bummed.

Anyway...this is viable construction. It's a solid maybe 3 pound eps core that is wrapped with a very low density PE foam - like what's used for packing electronics. That is then "shrink wrapped" and the seams elctronically welded along the rails. It has a vent plug for when it gets water in it There is no sense of it being overly flexy, but you won't be busting airs with it either.

The outline on this sucks as it's supposed to be a shortboard for a grom, but it'll surf behind the boat.

I think this is viable tech for groms and newbs on a budget.

I think this is a great set up for a grom. Soft top and bottom and flexible fins - no real way for the kiddies to get a bump on the noggin. PLUS my favorite in the how to care for it sticker in an emergency use duct tape! Who doesn't love THAT?!

That looks like a viable solution for my kids next summer. As they are both asking to learn to surf.

Although I'd get more life out of a Wake9 Grom or a Phase 5 Scamp. Too bad my LF is too big for them, if it wasn't, I could give them that one and buy a new board for myself. I can't have the kids have a better board than I do.

LOL yeah really. I think if folks were concerned about that very first board and didn't want to get too spendy, this would be a good option, but certainly it's not going to last like the Wake9 Grom...but I'm hoping that Robert is paying attention and we'll see a wake9 version of this!

Surfdad- Who is the manufacture of that board? I've been lookin for a board like that for my 4yr old daughter who loves pink. I'd rather her have her own board to paddle around the lake then paddling on my long wakesurf.

Well, the board is suitable for some one 100 pounds or less. It's an entry level board, anyone with skils can fiddle with it, but wouldn't call it even "good". I think it's good for a newbie kid, the board was NOT responsive, but was stable. Very soft everywhere and easy to flip up.

Two concerns would be HEAT, the air under the skin expands in the heat. It did ok in the 95 degree heat today, but not sure what that would mean in 110 degree heat. Also...it's vinyl and pretty easy to puncture. But...for $129 to your door, I think it's a solid option for little ones.

Surfdad (or anyone)...whats your thoughts on the 07 inland redtide surfer...any experience with this one. Found a great deal...thought I would ask. I am 5'8" and 180ibs and I can ride a short board not bad...I need a new "tramp" board for everyone to ride

Thats a tank for you. You don't need a board that big. If you were 250 or more, sure. The blue lake would probably be a better board for you from IS. Just a thought.
