Free to a good home :)

I order a cheap a$$ Brazilian imported softop just to see how the construction held up. My original intent was to cut the board in half and reverse engineer the construction. It occurred to me that it might be a suitable board for a grommet, so rather than destroy it, if there is a grommet that can use it, it's his/hers for free.

MUST go to a grommet, than can and will use it. Not to anyone trying to make a quick buck. My suspicion is that the construction is junk, but will work for a 60 pounder. If it in fact turns out to be junk, do NOT give me any grief!!! It's NOT a Shred Stixx/Inland Surfer/TWP/Etc. Lastly, I will NOT ship it, nor drive it anywhere. You make arrangements to pick it up.

I'll try and remember to post pictures of it this evening.

If I haven't found a home for it by Sunday afternoon, it goes under the circular saw.

LOL! Me too! I've done post mortem on a few boards and it is beyond fun.

Stupid question, what or who is a grommet?

Surfdad - just a suggestion, you may want to tell folks where you are located, so they know just where the heck they have to get the board from...

Unless, of course, it's all part of your master plan to NOT give it away so that its dismemberment is inevitable.

My daughter would love it but I would rather see it cut up If after its cutup and proven to be a decent board, I might order one up for the groms on my boat.

EDIT - NM, 60 lbs? My daughter is bigger than that now.

Destruction is more fun than contruction

I think the board is going to be good for a heavier rider than the 60 pounds noted, I think that's a realistic limit out in the ocean when you have to paddle and pop up...for the boat, we don't have that issue - IF it doesn't snap when we get up. To me - this construction might be useful for newbs and kids. Kids haven't learned (yet) to stay underwater until they are SURE the board is out of the air upon falling If they accidentally get hit, I think it will absorp the impact. The TWP Grom that Robert has is that way on the deck.

We'll see over the weekend, most likley it'll be JUNK and break in the first 5 minutes, but if not...$129 to your door?! That is way hard to beat.

Hey Timmy! I wasn't busting your chops on the P5 - I just cannot make a board at 4'6', especially with a pintail, that a 300 pounder could ride. I really thought you had modified the board and were going to announce that you had some super duper fin system, or added something to it. AND I wanted to be the first to know!!! Caskimmer is super protective of his relationship with Zap and P5, but he's ok guy.

@ da.bell - I will be laying out the skilsaw this evening!

I know you weren't busting my chops on the P5, it's hard to believe! He called me from the boat show when he was buying that board and I told him not to do it because it was only rated for 230lbs AND it was a skim board. I thought for sure that it would sink but somehow he is able to do it. I doubt he could free ride it all the way around the lake, but he can definitely do it for a few minutes.

SAVED from the gallows! Received an email that had this in it:

"I have a 5-yr old girl that loves pink "

As much fun as sawing it in two would be, you have to let it go to a 5 year old!
