What does everyone think about keeping the bindings snug enough to stay on during tricks, but loose enough to let the foot go under big crashes? I know that flying boards are a significant hazard but I have friends who have broken ankles, pulled belly muscles, sprained ankles, etc and they have gone to a looser fit.
No doubt flying boards are a hazard. Two years ago I was riding on a Friday afternoon after work and I caught a nasty edge on a toeside jump. I came out of the board and then it nailed me in the head. I ended up spending four hours in the ER waiting on 8 staples. I walked out of there looking like Frankenstein and ruining any weekend plans.

Had to throw this in there after hearing all the crash stories. This one does not involve injuries unless you count my face being as red as it could from emberassment.
So my wife has the lasic eye surgury done right when we bought our boat. So for two weeks she had to miss out on the water fun. She really wanted to try to wakeboard and when the doctor finally gave her the go-ahead well it was time for "ole red's" monthly visit if you know what I mean. But you know she put the plunger in and she wanted to try. We were in our usual cove, sun was starting to set, water was butter. We started to gather a crowd of people sitting on their docks as we were the only boat on the water at this point. My wife finally works up the courage to try. My brother drives and I stay in the water to assist her in her body postioning and coach her by her side. She get's up her first try and is screaming with excitement, people are clapping. In all the excitement she never rotated the board around and catches a nasty face plant about 50 yards away from me. She hit so hard she came out of the bindings and I bet Florida heard her face slap the water. Then she is laughing. And I can see she is holding something in her hand. Then she proceeds to shout, and I quote," I hit so hard my tampon popped out!" She yells this about 3 times before I can explain to her that her voice is carrying very well across the top of the water and that everyone can hear her. Atleast the spectators got a good laugh.
How can I be racist when all of my assault rifles are black?

Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity. Albert Einstein

Old guys have a water wheelchair - Hydrofoil is the way to go.

You don't even have to be able to walk to ride this. Just sit down, strap yourself in and get ready for the ride of your life!

That looks nice. May I suggest a helmet?

Let me guess. Tried an invert, feet came out and foil came all the way around and hit your head.

In the past, the feet where held in by rubber bands and the safety belt was just a dive weight belt.

Try http://www.cinchmax.com for the better belt and foot straps. I have never come out of the foil using these products.

Have a helmet, now. Just got frustrated with the sky ski, told my family that I was just going to launch and see what happened, did a 3/4 back flip. Essentially belly flopped into the water, on impact the ski came off and back of the foil hit the back of the head. 17 stitches. There was a post about it a couple of years ago, but I couldn't find it.
