I understand the theory, but haven't been able to really nail it. Seems like you guys pop practically straight up in the air.

I try to tell people that you want the rope tension and your speed to be the greatest as you are hitting the wake. Just like Matt said this is done best by progressive edging. If you have fluctuating rope tension as you approach the wake you will have all sorts of problems.

Like with anything else its just practice.
Me too - I can actually do the spin with ease but I just can't get the handle pass down. I can do the handle pass all day long on the trampoline but I'm not going 21 mph on there...

Great clear pics. People have a hard time gettin pics of me doing my best moves as they are usually done under the water---insert wipe-out here!

my BIGGEST advice for a 3 is to WAIT. sounds crazy, but wait. don't throw the spin as soon as you pop off the wake. about half way across move the handle around your hips and look the direction you want to turn, and then get the pass. it'll all fall into place.

OK, went out Friday PM and early this morning. Absolutely perfect water this mroning. I cleared both wakes a couple of times, I think I am starting to get the feel of it. Seems like it is 98% courage to cut that hard and create that much tension in the line, HOLD it, and then let her rip. I will see if we got any pics later today.

From this morning. This is my just turned 10 yr old son wakeboarding and on a ski (which was his 2nd time on a slalom ski)... and him helping a friend kneeboard. The kids just love being pulled with a friend!

Yeah, I know but it's the only one I've got. It should also qualify as classic. I guess I could let him use my old 65" Connelly Hook vs. the 67" Connelly Team 1sp! Yikes, and yes, they are that old. Me too.
