    Which surfboard??

Timmy met us at the lake earlier in the month, and he brought with a CWB Ride surfboard. Both my wife and I were able to get up on it, and we would like to buy one. I have spent a ton of mony on the boat lately, and would like to buy one used (if possible). I have found used hyperlite landlocks, and broadcasts, as well as a CWB Ride used. They are all about the same price.

My lake is very shallow, and won't get a huge wake/wave. Which board would you go with? We'd like one that's stable for us old guys to learn on.

We have a landlock. It's fun to fide but you can't do any 360's with it i don't think since the fins are so large. Also once the nose of it goes under water there is no getting it back up like some other boards. It might be a good board to learn on tho, there is a lot of grip with the landlock, hence the no 360's

We have the Hyperlite Landlock (5'-6") on our boat for bigger riders/beginners. One thing I did is remove the center tracking fin and left only the two outer fins. I have been able to spin 360's on the board as well as do shuv-it's with it without that center fin. I took the center fin out the day we bought it and haven't ridden with it since so I don't remember how sticky it was but with it removed it spins ok. The toughest part is the length of it not the fins.

I thought the landlock was a 5'11" board, but after looking on wakeworld, I guess that's just the new ones. Does anyone know what the changes were from year to year?

My landlock is 5'11". It's a couple of years old. I don't think it's changed much.

The landlock is a 5' 11" and then you get to the broadcast. land is good board for cruising and beginners but after that you are pretty limited and the learning curve is small. The Hyperlites are a good intro price and I would probably go with he broadcast in the The 5'6" model. Shallow lakes can still get big wakes. Our local lake is anywhere from 6 to 12 feet and we crank up a huge wake.

I just picked up an Inland Surfer - Red Tide. I love the boat and can ride forever now.

Is the red tide a good starter board, or is it more advanced like their yellow loogy?

Here is the board I got. I am not familar with the yellow loogy.

It seems to be a good starter board, but is really fast too. It is thick, wide, very buoyant and semi-hard to push down. My 10 year old son(riding for 3 years) had no issues but his 10 Year old friend (only 2 times up on a surfer) had troubles getting the board to push down for start.

I have an 08' Inland Surfer Red Woody and it is a sweet board. It is made for beginers and bigger riders. I've had 115 pound girls and up to 240 pound guys ride and ride well. I would highly recommend, but there not cheap...
