I could use a slightly bigger board and a local shop has some great prices on Gator boards. Like a 138 Gonzales for $125 with bindings. Anyone have an opinion on this board or Gator boards in general?
Canada, eh? Hmm. Maybe I should think twice about it! Does that mean that they are only built for cold water? I agree that it seems like too good of a deal to pass up. Even if I don't love it, we currently only have a 135 CWB Sol on the boat for adults. It seems to be a rare find to get any board with bindings for $125'ish.
Fit, I am sure they are okay. Gator is not a big brand IMO like CWB, Hyperlite, or Liquid Force but I am sure they have nice boards. At that price, I would look at the bindings to be the bottom of the line model and I am sure the board it either a beginner or intermediate board. But, that is a nice price still....
Done. I bought it. Got the Gonzales Pro model with Gator bindings. Even if I don't love it, now I have a board for all sizes that come aboard for a ride. Thanks to all for the input.
hey sorry i haven't been on much i could have given you some advice on that board. i rode a 142 caddy for a few years and really liked it. i've also ridden a 138 gonzales of a buddy's a few times. you will really like that board. it rides very similarly to a hyperlite premier. it has really solid pop but is very easy to control. easy to get loose when flat but will hold an extremely tight edge when put on its rails. i'm sure it won't dissapoint. oh! and they are made really well so no worries about abusing it. enjoy!
