    wake size

Anyone thought of maybe putting some weight up front when slaloming? thought it might bring the rear out a bit and make a smoother wake at a lower speed. Of course not wanting to put too much up front, as to sink the nose, but just wondering.

    oh yeah its a 03 21ir

    yeah it should work

look at it this way the more water the boat can displace the bigger the wake so the less water the smaller the wake. so try with a little in the front, like those water bed tubes if you get them. the tige is convex so it has a pivot point in the mid section of the boat meaning if you weight the fron it will basicaly try to throw the wake early than it is supposed to, the angle of the water coming behing the boat would make the water even out sooner than it should leaving for a smaller wake, same concept as taps it just taps beefed up. not to mention the smallest point of the boat is the front so the less of the back in the water the less it can displace if you lean to the front you will have a smaller width of the boat at its deepest point. but if you try it start small you don't want to send the nose of your boat under the water.

thanks for the info. I'll give it a whirl. I have to get off the wakeboard first though, I never thought it would be this addictive!!

I have not had to add any weight to the boat when I slalom. I think it might depend on how fast you ski. I notice a good bump at 30-32mph with the TAPS set on 1. But when I get a few sets in and speed up to run the course at 36-36.5 mph there is little or no bump although it is firm. I don't think that adding weight would do me much good. Now that being said, if you have a V series then adding weight COULD help, but not sure.....any other thoughts?

your right, at that speed the wake is flat, but I can't ski at that speed just yet guess I need to keep practicing.

            Domslude,
When skiing at a lower speed keep the weight out of the front. The reason I say this is because once you get used to skiing at a lower speed and get used to the bump going over the wake, it will make it that much easier when you start to speed up, and the wake flattens out more. Does this make sense? I used to hate skiing when the water was a little choppy or windy and would only go if it was calm or glass, but once I got used to a little chop and kept at it, it made my skiing that much better when the water was glass. For me it gets harder and harder to go back to my slalom ski after taking up wakebaording!! If I don't ski the first run out, then I usually keep the ski put away.......just too damn tired after a few wakeboard runs to do a slalom set.....and if no one else wants to slalom, then I usually won't either.....but keep at it!!

yeah I have noticed that too Tiger. I just get picky I guess, now that I have my own boat, I want it to be nice before I get on the water. Before I would ski anything, but well, i guess since I can go anytime I want, I just want it the best
