Got my wife up on slalom ski for the first time yesterday. I couldn't be more proud of her. Before learning to wakeboard 5 years ago she had never been behind a boat. I started getting back into slalom last year and she saw how much fun I was having and decided to give it a shot. She tried once late last year and didn't quite get up. This last weekend was only her second attempt and she got up on her sixth try. It really made my day, and hers. Chalk one up for the good guys.

I'm hoping I can get her into wakesurfing this year.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

Thats awesome.
After 2 years of just driving, we got my Dad up on the surfer, then later the wakeboard, and now hes really progressing. Last summer we got my mom up on the surfer first, and then the wakeboard as well. Managed to cross the wakes pretty well for her first time out.www.dallaswakeboarding.com

Thanks fellas. It's always such a good feeling when you get someone up for their first time. The smiles and energy newbies have after getting up that first time just gets me pumped even more to get out and ride or ski or surf or whatever (yes, I have a skate too).
Ya know we oughta start a thread for "kills". I've got skier and a wakeboarder tallied up so far. You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Nothin' like smooth butter early in the morning with no boats around and skiing 'till your legs start shaking!Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

QUESTION, I KINDA DID A DIRTY THING, MY WIFE HADNT BEEN ON A SKI IN SOME 20YRS, AN OLD WILEY, UNTIL SHE MET ME... GOT HER UP ON A OLD JOBE SPECTRA 1400 PRETTY STABLE SKI, FOR A BEGINER SHE GOT UP ON HER 3RD TRY , NOT BAD.. NOW I HAVE HER DOING PULL OUTS FROM THE THE WAKE, AND DOING IT PRETTY WELL, SHE JUST DOESNT HAVE ENOUGH LED IN HER *** TO TURN THE SKI AND SHE IS AFRAID OF THE LEAN ANGLES, SO I BOUGHT A FRIENDS WIFES SKI , A CONNLEY ATTACK, WICH IS NOT A STABLE SKI BUT I THOUGHT IT WOULD HELP HER TURN BETTER BEING SHE IS ONLY 5' AND 105 LBS DRIPING WET, HOW CAN I TEACH HER THAT THE LEAN AGNLES AND THE MORE THAT SHE PULLS THROUGHT THE TURNS WILL PULL HER THROUGH THE TURN, AND THE WAKE SCARES HER TO DEATH..AND OF COURSE THE SKI NOW IS HARDER TO GET UP ON.
AND SHE SAYS THE SKI FEELS LIKE IT WANTS TO TAKE OFF ON HER, SHOULD I KEEP HER ON THE ATTACK OR PUT HER BACK ON THE JOBE?
I CAN SEE THAT THE ABILITY IS THERE AND I START TO GET FRUSTRATED , THEN SHE GETS FRUSTRATED, THEN THE DAY GETS SHOT , AND ALL SHE'LL DO IS DRIVE...... (HELP)
