That taperflex is wild. We used to ride one looooooong ago. That flat formica bottom is super slick so you better be good at holding your edge. Brings back a lot of memories. First time I ever successfully ran a course was behind an outboard Glastron on a Nash tunnel ski bought from the Army Navy store for about 25 bucks. We were really cool,or at least though so.
From what I'm told, my grandfather rode this one the entire length of the Sacramento arm of Shasta. I tent to believe that one. After the war, he really embraced waterskiing and he would drag the family all the way up to Antlers resort at Shasta from Los Angeles once a year. I guess after being a tailgunner in a B-29, a little jaunt became much bigger and not that big of a deal.
