Where and what to look for in a used foil?

I have been thinking of buying a foil for a couple years and now am ready, I think? Air Chair or Sky ski? Where can you find a used one? How much is fair for a used one? I want to try used first to see if it something to add permanently to the list of towable tows, I hope to replace the tubes.

    Thanks in advance,

No takers? You might want to try posting this is in General. I know that Lovin Powell down south is an avid foiler, you could also PM him.

I have a 2005 Sky Ski cast foil with cover, cinchmax belt (upgrade) and
footstays for sale for $1000.00. Excellent condition. I own two other
high end foils and need to sell this one. I can email photos if you like.

You can also check the classifieds on http://www.foilfreaks.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=3

Air Jorgy... Is that a shock tower or rock tower? I thought they stopped making cast and started selling 2 piece billet in 2005.

Yes, you are correct. The 2005 were two piece billet.

The foil was put together from pieces of several skis I
          owned.

The deck is 2005, the foil is 2004 (cast), and the Rock
Tower is 2007 (brand new out of the box). Brand new
footstay and 1 year old cinch belt. Brand new foil cover
          as well.

Sounds like a good ski for the money

We have a Sky Ski that I bought new from the boat show two years ago. We paid alot for it and haven't used it much compared to how much it cost. I look at things as a cost/use ratio. There are a couple of reasons for lack of use. First, it has been somewhat dificult to get proficient at it and second is it's portability. It is very bulky and takes up alot of room. If it is something that you are bringing along for a short trip, it is always in the way. It is fun though and we would like to get more proficient at it.

Since you live in St. George you need to hook up with Jake
Bradley or his Dad Jay Bradley. Jake is a pro rider and Jay
is an excellent rider as well. They will improve your skills
in no time. If you need a number for them, pm me.

There are many hydrofoil racks out there for that reason.
Sky Ski makes the best ones. Expensive but worth it.
There are other racks that can put the foil on the tower
and out of the way. That is what we do. Keeps the
boat uncluttered while we do other things.
