Taps Help (can't find same issue on the forums)

Okay, I have 2002 23v. This winter I installed a 2nd battery in the compartment where the taps pump is located. I moved the pump to a different location in the compartment. After I checked to make sure the taps was working, and it was. Take it out for the first time this year, and it's not working. A matter of 1 month and it's not working.

Here is the technical I've done thus far. Checked the fluid, and it was low, so I added some. Still nothing from the pump, when I hit the switch. Checked the breaker, not popped. From what I've read, I should check for an inline fuse somewhere. Can't find it though. Location?

Here is the weird part, when I hit the switch, the neutral light gets brighter and the gas gauge shoots to full. Nothing from the gauge or the pump. And when I'm under the helm, I hear the click which I assume is the relay. I've also tried to manually assist the plate itself while someone hit the switch, which is pretty much pointless because the pump isn't running.

Please help, sucks being stuck at 1 when you've got a bunch of weight in the boat.

Check for a bad ground. Your light and gauge weirdness is kinda like when a trailer has a bad ground to the truck and the running lights blink along with the turn signals.

was the 23v, notorious for the wires fraying in the throttle? I did install perfect pass, maybe I messed something up when I was wiring stuff back up.

I'd guess we've got the same system. Mine's good so far.... I'd think that fraying wires would short and kill the controller or blow a fuse rather than make the light and fuel gauge act up. Trace your grounds.

Sounds like you got a ground wire that is either loose or didnt make it back on the battery after you project. Acts like the TAPS pump is trying to find a ground through the fuel gauge and V-Dive fluid switch.

Thanks guys, exactly what it was. My numb nuts forgot to plug the ground back up to my house battery. Explains why my radio started cutting out too. Thanks again.
