That's the same place I bought my boat. Spencer has a hard time keeping mechanics.

I live in Raleigh but I keep my boat at Gaston, about 160 miles one way. I had a short in the wiring harness last summer and Spencer drove all the way to Gaston to fix it, I thought that was pretty cool. He also drove up the previous summer to do the 50 hour service.
If you ever find yourself up at Lake Gaston give me a holla.
Good luck with the fuel pump.

Greg,
Beyond the 44k I paid for the boat, nothing.
His first trip was for the first scheduled service, I can't remember if it was a 20 hour or 50 hour (I got him to throw this in when I purchased the boat). For the second service, I drove the boat to him. When I dropped off the boat I mentioned I was having an intermittent problem with the engine where sometimes the starter would not turn over unless I took the key out and retried it a couple of times. He completed the service and checked the engine and could not duplicate the problem. The next weekend I took the boat out and the problem occurred again, this time I had to be towed back to my boathouse by a pontoon boat! I called Spencer and he agreed to drive out to Gaston to fix it. He drove up the following week, found the wire harness problem, fixed it and I have not had any trouble since.
Tige's don't get much respect around here, I don’t why, too many Malibu and Nautique bigots I suppose. Funny part is most of them have never even seen a Tige up close, much less rode behind one.
Anyway, my point is that they can say what they want to about Spencer and Tige boats, I love my Tige and I certainly cannot complain about the service.

At the time i had my problem(s) the mechanic at the time (Brad, i think that is his name) could not find the problem with my boat . When i took the boat out the following weekend the vaporlock problem happened again. When i got home i called Spencer 2 times but he never returned my calls.... needless to say he lost my support ..... He was trying to open up his dealership in Charlotte about the same time i was having motor trouble...When i take my boat up there to get the boost pump put on i am going to ask him what the situation was at that time.....

Thanks. I came up with the idea for the stern rack last winter. I designed it and my brother fabricated it for me. My primary motivation for designing it was I got tired of having to take my tower board racks off everytime I went in and out of my boathouse. Storing the boards on the stern also makes it really easy to stow and retreive your board (no climbing up by the tower to get your board).

Looks like you have a very good idea there..I get tired of handling boards in and out of the boat...Whoever skis can just get their board on the way out of the boat and put it back when they come in.... I have racks on top of the tower but its a pain to get to them with the bimmi top up.....It should also give you a lot of extra room in the boat....
Note to leetige....I am thinking about installing 2 vents at the lower front of my engine cover...I will see if i can get some that match the ones already on the boat ...I think that this would help get more air into the engine box...Also looking into adding an extra blower to the engine compartment to move more air...I looked inside the front storage area and found that only 1 of the 2 front vents was hooked up!!!!
Hey Tige M.D.... Is it legal to do this?
