There should be a port on the end of the fuel rail. I don't think you will need an inline adapter.

Spoke with Dom today and was advised as to the possible cause(vapor lock) and what to do to remedy it. He is a true gentleman and very knowledgeable.
Thanks to all who has helped and will let you all know how it runs in a week or two.

I think 175 deg is normal.
Ours runs at 170 all day except right after it's shut down.

He is the king of helping people fix things themselves. He knows the 6 liter in and out and then some. I've always been amazed at the knowledge he shares with me knowing that I will now do the service myself and not be bringing it to him. I am glad he is my dealer and a local resource, some things I do have him do, not taking all his work. He is getting plenty of work from all the bu owners right now though!

My guess is he shared this with you, but another problem could be ethanol. I don't know if your state is a heavy user of it. When I talked to merc last summer, they said that ethanol was causing vapor lock havoc with marine engines. Just an FYI
