What kind of bilge does a 2006 22Ve need?

At the end of the season my brother was helping me wipe down the boat and he wiped the dash off with a towel and accidentally hit the bilge switch and by the time I went 5 hours later to put the cover on I saw the bilge switch on and turned it off but I could smell a burning smell which I assume was the bilge pump burning up... sorry for all the info, but I need to know what bilge pump can replace it and a few tips or how to's on changing it out... thanks, Dave

You should be fine with any automatic 500 Gph bilge pump. I think they're $40-$50. West Marine, Boater's World, Overtons, etc. all carry them.

this is the one your boat should have in it. it will be the easier to replace if you get this one because the base is screwed to the hull and if you buy the same one you just snap the base off the new one snap it into the old base make the wire connections install the hose your set.

They also sell them on ebay for $30-$45

kko, they have the 500 gph in the boats from what I see. You could be right though but both the 24Ve and RZ2 that I have has a 500 version.

it might be the 500 but you want to get this style for sure. the 750 will fit it has the same size hose but the 500 will be cheaper

i agree but if unsure on ebay, go with what you have to make sure that you get what you need. "Their" return policy at times can be shaky.

You're only going to get a certain amount of water through the hose fitting they use in the boats. Most boats I've seen use a hose/thru hull diameter that will really only get you 500 Gph or less.

That's why, even though I have automatic ballast, I still keep my old manual pumps on board in case of emergency.

Does the wiring to the bilge pump disconnect from the pump on the back or do you have to re-wire it?

unless you buy it from tige you have to splice it in.

Splice it higher up the wire so you do not have a splice that would be in bilge water, the wire is usually generous in length coming off the back of the pump.
