So I have had my 08 20I for 28 hours and I love everything about the boat except the throrttle. I have to push down beyond where I normally lay my hand and there is always a hesitation before the motor engages. It is also hard to maintain a constant speed. I thought the EFi would be more reponsive than my carb. 350 but it is not. I drove a Response LXI the other day and the thottle control and response was so good that it makes me question if something can be done about mine? Does this sound normal?

I'm guessing you have either the MP 320 or 340? Not sure what you mean by "I have to push down beyond where I normally lay my hand". Are you saying that there is a delay in the engine's response when you accelerate or is the engine stumbling? Drive-by-wire will respond with in Milliseconds.
Do you have Tige Speed Set?

I learn a lot from everybody with the "newer Tige boats" it is really cool how things have progressed"I feel sorry for people that don't drink, when they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're gonna feel all day" - Frank Sinatra

What I mean is that the lever has to be pushed past the point where I can comfortably keep my arm on the rest. The engine could be stumbling, not sure how to tell the difference.
I have the MP 320 and I decided not to go with the speed set because in the past I never considered it hard to maintain a constant speed. I have been thinking that I might want to add it on but want to identify whats really going on. Haven't contacted the dealer yet, figured I get some good info from you guys first.

What's your top speed and RPM's?
Speed set should be an easy plug and play if you decide to upgrade, but it wont fix whats going on right now.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

If there is hesitation, then I'd have your dealer check out the engine. Your response should be instantaneous. In terms of the throttle travel itself, this will be different from boat to boat. I'd rather have less sensitive because it gives me finer control. This is very important at slower speeds.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

Talked to the mechanic at the dealorship today and he said it sounds like an engine management issue. He is going to contact MP and see what he needs to download to fix the problem.
I knew it wasn't right from day one and am glad to hear that it can be corrected; I will feel even better when it is corrected.
