    No oil pressure questions

Well, got on the boat this weekend, started up fine, ran up the lake fine, went to neutral and about 4 seconds later warning buzzer went on, looked at the gauges and the oil pressure was reading 0 . Quick shut the boat down. waited a minute or two started it back up and oil pressure came back up to 40, sat there and watched the pressure drop to 0 again, so I put the boat in neutral and brought the idel up and the pressure came back up. The motor sounds fine (meaning no knocking like no oil) and the oil stick is reading full. Anyone else have anything like this happen? Buddy thinks it sounds electrical, meaning something broken in the gauge or sending unit. Any thoughts? Thanks

I'd check the sensor, it may be bad or just not grounded properly. What engine do you have?

Sorry, it is a 2005 so it has the 340hp. I am going to pick up a mechanical oil pressure gauge tonight and plum that in as well as watch the two to see what happens

Oil pressure sending units are cheap and do fail, I replaced one on that exact engine, though in my 94 silverado, and in my wrangler. Easy replacement and fairly cheap part. A mechanical gauge will let you know if there is something more going on.
