    new whine

Last weekend at Powell we hit a sand bar and bent the prop. Had the dealer check everything and replace the prop. Took the boat out today for the first time since the repair and there was a very loud whine that started at 1000 rpm and went away at 1500 rpm. Boat ran great otherwise. The noise was there only in gear and it was not the belt.
Any ideas? Are there any kind of thrust washers that go on before the prop that could have been left off? The noise was not there with the bent prop on, only started after new prop installed. Any ideas would be great.

the prop that was put on the boat might have a problem. is it new or rebuilt?
there are no thrust washers just a keyway.

Its a new 4 blade brass prop, same pitch and size as the old one.
My dealer is taking the boat to lake for a test drive.

      Thanks, Gizmo
