    Engine dies backing off trailer

I have noticed a new but minor problem this year. The engine on my 1998 2100i dies when you first put it in reverse to back off the trailer. It fires right up, idles smooth, you ease it into reverse and you add a little thottle to get off the trailer, the engine dies. It fires right again and does not give any other performance problems that I am aware of. I only ask this as I haven't had this problem before. I replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor 2 or 3 years ago and don't really have that many hours on it since then. Anybody think this is an early sign of a impending problem?

      It's a MarinePower USA fuel injected GM 350. 310 or 315 hp.
This occurs when the engine has just been started and is cold. I'm probably over-reacting to this but its never done this before this year. It starts easily and runs great otherwise.

wow david, this is a new one for me. i would first let the engine warm up to at least 120 deg first. if it still does it you may have an idle air valve (iac) sticking. probably going to have to have a tech look at it with a diacom computer, record the failure and e-mail it to marine power. they should be able to tell you if it is a efi or mechanical problem.
