    Help! Engine won't start!

I have a 2000 21i w/MAG 350 and it decided not to start while on the lake this past weekend. We were running around having great fun and when it was my turn to hop wakes the boat wouldn't restart. It had been running fine all day up to that point. The engine turns over fine but there is no spark at the plug or coming from the coil. Any chance this could be something simple? Acts an awful lot like a kill switch, but I don't have one (that I know of). Power is good to everything that I can see when the key is on (gauges and lights).

Is there someplace I can get a trouble shooters diagram or manual?

    I'd really appreciate any help!

Does it have fuel pressure? If its has no spark and no fuel my guess would ba a control unit. If is just no spark my guess would be a bad coil or ignitor, check to see if the coil is getting power to it, also check all connectors visible, I've had some problems with a no crank when hot due to a mis-aligned pin in the main wire harness connector. Best idea is to let a tige dealership look at it. In the end its cheaper to pay someone familar with the systems than slapping parts on yourself and hope it fixes it.

Thanks for the reply GIZMO. Fuel looks OK, engine turns over, just no spark. I'm in the middle of moving right now, but I plan to check power at the coil and look for any loose connections as soon as possible. If there is nothing obvious then I have an appointment this week to take it in. Was hoping for something simple that someone else had possibly run into.

      Thanks again!

the ignition trigger (located under the rotor) could have failed. when they fail they tend to give the same symptoms as a vapor lock, no start when hot then restart at the dealer. then one day they just quite. the part is easy to change and will run you about $50 to change it and te rotor.

When the battery power is low the engine will turn over, but the power is too weak to fire the electrical system. You may notice that as you release the key the engine tries to fire or even back fires briefly when this occurs.
Mine does this if I have had the stereo on too long without starting. The best money you can spend for your boat is a jump box so you never have to depend on another boat for a jump start.
