Fuel Problems - Engine Stalling 22i

I'm having a real problem with my engine stalling. Right now it will start and idle for about 10 to 15 seconds and stall. If I try to run it up in neutral, it stalls almost immediately. I recently had a booster pump installed to solve a prior vapor locking problem and ran the boat for about 3 hours before this problem started. Any thoughts?

The two problems I found with this are:
Water in the bilge: even the slightest amount stalls our engine.

Clean out your fuel lines. Take them apart and blow compressed air through them.

If you have debris, then remove the gas tank and clean it out too.
Not that hard a task on a Tige'.

Beyond this, you have a problem that may require a qualified tech to solve.
Crank angle sensor, fuel injection,, several vortec problems that show up from time to time.

If you have the merc 350 magnum it is the original fuel pump that was the problem, not vapor lock. The pump booster was installed on mine too. It would run one minute and not the next and acted just like vapor lock. The merc factory rep just happened to be in town and ran the proper test on the original fuel pump and it was bad. Replaced and have not had trouble since, but still have the booster too.

how exactly does water in the bilge stall an engine?????

if this problem started after the boost pump was installed then check to see that both primary and boost pump is running. they may have not properly plugged it into the new harness plug.

if that is good then check to see if the boost pump filter (small silver can) is in place and not clogged. it should be somewhere between the boost pump and fuel tank.

At long last the problem is solved. It did turn out to be the main fuel pump, just as Jason had suggested. We replaced it a few weeks ago and haven't had any problems since then. Thanks for your help...
