OK first started out as engine was over heating after going through some trash up 2 225 degrees. So i killed the engine (keep in mind it was still running great after I shut it off also wasnt more than 5 minutes of it being hot). Then I went to turn it back on after it cools down and the starter doesnt work. I dont find out untill about 5 minutes ago (2 days later) that it started working again. So I bumped it to see if the engine would at least turn over but sounded like it got half of a turn and just quit.... Im going to charge the battery tomarrow and just make sure that its not that because its really low... But then again I hooked it up the same time I was trying to start it. so not sure what to think. It could be the possibility of a shot impellar that got dried out and got trash in it. Could be anumber of problems. Im going to try and narrow it down though.

Possiblility of a blown engine?

I dont think you have a blown engine. Maybe just a blown impeller, but that wont affect the starting.
Check your battery, sounds like its not getting enough juice to the starter. Thats the only thing I can think of besides a bad starter or solenoid, but I dont see any reason why it could be that.Common Sense is not so Common

Whatever you do, make sure it's in the water before starting. You'll fry your impeller in an instant if you don't.
How old are the batteries? Since you bought it used, I'd just assume that they're shot. Batteries last about 2 years, after that you're rolling the dice.
Just an FYI, I had to replace my alternator this year. I also had to change out my fuel pressure regulator (a real PITA). I don't think it's causing your starting problems.
You also have a Mercruiser. You'll need to change your distributor cap every other year. It will start acting up by not starting and eventually it won't start at all.

Several things happen when an engine is "blown" from being overheaed. 225 isn't that hot, so I wouldnt worry. Block can be damaged in a number of ways, but none of the symptoms you are decribing. If other parts got damaged you would have different symptoms too. A "blown" engine will still start 90% of the time.http://www.wakeboatworld.com

Probably a Battery
Charge the battery fully then make sure the battery is charged. Take the battery to Autozone, Batteries Plus or some such enterprise and have the battery checked. If the battery is OK check all the connections. My boat refused to start one day and there was a ground cable loose on the battery, and even then only slightly loose.
One time I started my truck on a morning that was 22 degrees with no problem. I drove 1/4 mile and shut the truck off for 5 minutes. Went back out and the truck was dead and would not crank. The battery had failed completely just that quickly. One of the internal links had opened up.
I replace batteries every 5 years regardless of condition. That goes for vehicles and the boat. A dead battery is not worth the hassles and even then there is no quarantee.Ray Thompson

Well... I just dropped it off at Shad Racks in Bristol, VA. My neighbor Mike O. is the guy to go to for them. Instead of waiting in line for 2 weeks, they are going to look at my boat first thing in the morning . I also get boards and parts at dealer prices through him too cause we help out at the boat shows .... Anyways im dreading the phone call tomarrow to find out whats wrong with it.For Those About To Ride We Solute You
