    Bilge Pump

Does your bilge pump come on automatically? this is my 3rd season with my boat and if mine has kicked on by istelf, I've never noticed. Then again, I may not have taken on enough water for it to come on. I've swithched it on at the end of the day, before trailering and it's pumped water for about 30 seconds, but that's about it. Do I have a problem?

I'd say it should be an automatic bilge. Put in the plug and grab the garden hose........fill it up and see if it comes on.

It takes a fair amount of water in order for your automatic bilge to come on. One way to find out is to do as chpthril says.

My shaft seal has mine kicking on quite a bit automatically.
