    low on Oil

A few weeks ago I was doing a routine dip stick check to find out that my oil was very low all of a sudden. I had to add two quarts of oil to get it back to the operating range. Now it has stayed at a stable level. Should I be worried that I have a leak or the engine is burning it somehow. There are no visible signs of a leak in the bilge area or anywhere else I can see for the matter.

It is a 2004 MarinePower 5.7l V8 MPI with 187 hours on it.

How long/hours since your last service when you noticed the low level? May not have been full from the last service.

Keep checking it before each trip out and let us know if anything changes.

Thanks for the reply. I had been about 60 hours (about 10 months) from the last service, including oil change. I have continued to check it and the oil level has stayed stable since I added the two quarts.
