Anyone know if the recommendation for timing is 00TDC for marine applications on a small block chevy. Carb'd engine. Having some dieseling and think the timing may be off. Should be the last part of the puzzle.

Turn off the key, engine continues to run very very badly. Caused by the combustion chamber having something hot enough in it to ignite the leftover fuel. Caused by timing, lean/rich, carbon buildup, poorly casted heads, valve deposits, etc. I am going to check timing, most of the other things I have recently addressed.http://www.wakeboatworld.com

It could also be caused by the wrong grade fuel. I know regular unleaded seems to cause problems for my boat. There was another thread on WSR that talked about fuel combustion and the differences between the different blends of gas.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

Yeah, that can also cause it. I don't figure I'll be heading to my pop's shop to fill up on racing fuel though. I always run 93. I would never try 87. I am going to set my timing to 00 one afternoon this week and see if that gets 'r done. I need to check my plugs anyway to see if I am still running lean while cruising.
