I am original owner of 1996 pre 2002. Last few years I’ve notice more water in the hull after sitting in water overnight, more water than usual. Seems like I have a slow leak into the hull. I don’t see any drips from the water pump/impeller. What are the likely causes? I imagine there has to be a seal where the prop shaft goes thru. Is that an easy seal to replace myself.

If it's the shaft seal you'll most likely be able to see the leak while the boat is in the water. Just have to pull the access panel.

Yep probably the shaft packing as mentioned above. Lots of youtube videos on it as well. I think mine takes 1/4" packing if I remember correctly. Easy to change out, just don't over tighten it when installing the new packing. It needs to drip a little when the shaft is turning to keep it cool. I have a removal tool that works good pulling the old packing out, but a 3" screw would do just the same.Comment
