    Part number req.

Looking for a few part numbers for a 97 MarinePower SportPac Vortec engine:

    impeller
    fuel filter/water sep recommedation
    oil filter model recommendation
    fluid capacties
    alternator

Also, anyone who has purchased a manual, is it in a ringed binder, or paperback? If it is ringed, I may buy one and scan it for electronic availability.

The oil filter cross reference is fram ph30 or ac pf 25 or purolator L 20049. Pep boys brand filter is the same as purolator ppl 20049. MP on their web site says that there should be dual remote oil filters with their sport pak engine and even shows a picture and also states that an oil cooler is standard. Do you have these?

Yeah the "dual remote" filters probably don't exist though. I saw the same thing on their site but my 2005 340hp MPI Marine Power does not have this. I have been thinking of adding it though since it would make changing the oil easier. For quick answers you could give my dealer Dom a call, he owns Forte's here in Florida, 888-517-3178. He goes to work at about 6am I think so he should be there already. The only reason he may not is if they are still taking down from the boat show we had this weekend.

Yeah same here......no dual filters, but all the other things, save the additional optional equipping....like fresh water cooling, etc.

I may give DOM a call. Will he do orders over the phone? I might as well get all the stuff at the same time I am getting the part numbers.

          Another part number request.

Water pump for a 350CID mercruiser.
It's seeping, so something is going bad in there, might as well change the whole thing.

            Spharis,
Getting a Mercruiser original part no. is easy. Use the following to get to Mercruiser's site - http://www.mercurypartsexpress.com/P...phome.asp?CID=. Enter your engine serial no. and click CONTINUE on this page. Enter any zipcode on the next page and click CONTINUE. A list of local dealers will be displayed, click CONTINUE again. The next page has a panel for selecting various parts diagrams for your engine. The Mercruiser part no.s listed there can be used for cross-referencing replacements.

New water pump is in; pretty uneventful....as it should be.....went over the entire engine today, tidying up wires, tracing what I had left, and all.....so that leaves:
                alternator
                isolator
                deep cycle battery
                front comps
                amp
double 8's in the kick panel
                new gauges
                tower
                dripless packing
                new prop

                then I'm done

New alternator on 2AWG cable to the battery is in. Also adjusted the carb and killed the smoking problem. Boat is running like a champ. After Christmas, I should have all my new gauges in, and all the new stereo except for the sub, amps, and second battery. Tower in the spring, and then you guys might actually get some pics.
