Alright guys-
Newbie Tige owner here. First real boat- picked up a 2002 21V with Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI from an auction for a great price. Found a dealer's logo on the trailer and gave them a call to see if it has had any service history and lo and behold it has a bad engine. Too good to be true type of deal.
Dealer stated that it fell off the lift and was submerged for 2 days before the owner found it. Dealer noted that it was not started but they did drain all fluids before the winter and posted it to auction as they don't work on mercruisers anymore.
My question is this- I am taking out the engine this weekend to rip apart and see if its able to be rebuilt- handy with car engines but new to Marine. Does anyone have any links to a service manual? Any tips on pulling it?
Also- does anyone have a used engine for sale if mine is toast??? This boat ate up my savings already and ebay prices are crazy
I'll get some serial numbers off the motors this weekend.
