Two SE550's I've been keeping an eye on for a long time now.

I wonder if you would even need the charger in an SE. my 440 SE is a damned beast.

But SC is awesome for sure, it’s just expensive.

Our local Supra dealer says they wont order an SE without a charger, and not that I see a lot of SE's around, but I have never seen a 450. At this point I would only pick an SE550. I'm also interested in a 2018 B52 23. Not sure how they are with the 440. Will that be enough? Any RZX3 with a 460 or charger would be good too. As a last resort, if I could find a great deal on a taps 3 Z3 or R23 I could go that route. The only boat that had a wave during the test that really impressed me was jasons RZX2 at mead. Other boats should have, but they didn't. So it's hard to spend $100k on a wave that I have right now. It just makes so much sense to me to dump $10k into mine.

I run about 5000 pounds in my SE450 and it surfs at 3400. With ease.

Sounds like you need to drag your boat here this spring for a test drive!

Interesting - we are at 1844'. Obviously we are not even close to comparing apples here, but since it is a Tige forum... I run about 4500 lbs total ballast at 3200 rpm (I can actually adjust the rpm by adjusting my avx, but average is 3200). I can also cruise easily at 25 mph at roughly 3800 rpm. That is all done with the big ol' Raptor 400...

So basically the same. My boat is probably 1000# heavier? As a guess.

This is a perfect example at how different hulls can be in regards to how they travel thru the water. While overall weight and length is important, it only really tells half of the story in regard to efficiency etc.

I will continue to say this....... Setup is so important. I have hours and hours in most of the new Tige and Supras learning the quirks of each one. Most people just dont spend that time and are content with getting something surfable.

I have always thought the Z3 or R23 was your boat but you pivoted. You really should spend some time in either of those correctly setup. Killer wave, and wont have the power issues especially if you go 440 or 575. I think I could get Tige to build you a Z with the 2/1.
