    Water pump

Can anyone tell me if there is difference between a Mercruiser marine water pump and a standard GM waterpump? It seems I've sprung a leak and it seems to be the waterpump, I've done many auto pumps and didn't see a visual difference.

Yes, a marine pump has heavy duty bearing that are sealed/self lubricating. An automotive does not, as antifreeze has a lubricant in it.
May be less expensive, but may not even last a season!
