    Wiring harness PCM HO303

We have a 2013 R20 that we were having check engine lights popping up on. After a lot of back and forth with the local Tige dealer we figured out that there is a problem with one of the injector wires, that every once in a while records a high voltage and trips the light. It doesn't affect performance at all, but it is a major nuisance to hear the alarm and deal with the light on the dash. The local Tige dealer is horrible, but there is a MC dealer that we really like. They can do the work if we can source the part. And to top this off, it did occur under warranty, but we bought boat used with 85 hours on it and the dealer never transferred it over to us so we are paying out of pocket. So my question is this; does anyone know where I can get a new wiring harness, apparently it is not just an injector wire, its part of the whole harness. Any help is really appreciated.
    Thanks,

Just guessing here, but the MC tech should be able to tell you which injector is showing a "high voltage" (are you sure that's right? Maybe high resistance?). After you know that, the first thing I would do is swap that injector with the one next to it. If the code pops back up the same as before that does rule out the injector. My guess is that the code will show a new injector position. If it does not, you can start looking at wires. Most injectors are set up so that each bank is powered by one 12v hot wire that power all four injectors. The ECM then grounds each negative wire in order to fire a particular injector. An injector circuit has either 0 volts or system voltage (12-14). It would be easy to trace the 12+ wire back to where it spices in with the other injectors on that bank. I would check that wire. As a note, the two injector hot wires, one for each bank should go back to its own fuse that is hot with the key on. The 12- wire will go all the way back to the ECM for all 8 injectors, so 8 different wires. I would figure out what pin that wire belongs to at the ECM connector and ohm from that pin to the pin on the injector connector. A good reading there (.001ish) tells you the wire is good. If your two wires look good that leaves the fuse, the injector, or the ECM. Not sure what else there could be. My money's on the injector. A good tech should have no problem repairing a bad harness. No need for a new one.

thank you for all the info, I really appreciate the reply! You are absolutely correct and that is the way they trouble shot it, the error is always on injector 5. They did do the exercise to swap it out and the injector is good (still showed the error on 5). At first they thought it was maybe the ECM, but then they ruled that out somehow. I guess I never asked them if they could repair the harness, they just led me to believe that I needed a new one. Honestly, I have to pull teeth a little with them, because they don't really want to work on anything that is not MC. I just feel a bit stuck because our local Tige dealer is the same dealer for a 4 hour radius and I have had nothing but problems with them. If I did just want to buy a new harness is there a place to do so?

13R20 - Where are located? What part of the country? Your dealer situation sounds eerily familiar.

I'd suggest getting away from a dealership and going to a regular boat repair shop. Repairing has to be easier and cheaper than ordering new. If you have to go new, my guess is only a tige dealer can get you the harness you need.

D&P, I am in Wisconsin, so a long way from your dealership, but hopefully you can find a good one to work with too. I will do some inquiring and see if I can find a local tech who can do some troubleshooting on the side and maybe repair that harness. I would just like to have a engine code free summer! Thanks for all the help

Oh, well if that's all, just unplug the light!

If you cant get the harness repaired I would try calling PCM direct. Sherwood Starbird is usually the guy I talk to there that is most helpful/knowledgeable
