Oil Pressure Waring Light / Alarm

I bought a 1998 2100v and when idling the transmission oil pressure warning light comes on but then goes off as speed increases. It will stay off for a few minutes after returning to idle speed but then come back on. Which transmission is this warning light for, the v-drive or transmission? Is this a common problem or something I need to be concerned about. Someone told me that as long as it goes off when not idling that I should not worry about it? Does anyone have a manual for the 1998 2100v that I could copy?

No concern. Only a concern if its on above idle speed. They do usually come back on when you return to idle quickly. It wouldn't hurt to check your v-drive and tranny oil though since you just picked her up. I do not have a pdf file manual.

Thanks jimidemo, I checked all fluid levels and compression and they all look good, just working on getting a few gauges & warning lights operational. I have ordered a new tach which I hope is the problem, visible water damage inside but I am also having trouble with TAPS gauge, wiring was not connected, I had to replace pump, so now it moves correctly but gauge does not work.

Red light is for walters vdrive unit and should go out by around 1200rpm it is normal for it to come on at idle most boats will have label on dash as the pump is not being turned quick enough to generate enough oil pressure
