So last couple times I have had my boat out I have had some random over heats. usually only happens when I'm surfing or sometimes tubing with 5 or more people in the boat. did a impellar the last part of last summer so and everything has been fine. so here is the other weird thing. you can hear the change in the exhaust as it starts to heat up and you can hear the exhaust get louder. anyone know what could be the problem planning on changing impeller tomorrow or Tuesday but ive had an impeller bad before and never caused the exhaust to change the sound. thanks in advance

The exhaust changes sound because you are running it dry and then things get hot fast. Sounds like a total lack of raw water being pumped.
The muffler relies on the water to function properly. And not break up!
Take a look down the exhaust with a torch and make sure there's no loose bits and both look the same.
Get it fixed before it gets expensive!
