5.7L Engine cuts out/boggs during initial acceleration

Replaced my cap and rotor and I'm still experiencing vibration at lower RPM's at load. Goes away at about 30MPH. The speedo is acting weird too as it wont go higher than 35 and I know I'm running faster than that? Even put on the new replacement prop I had sitting around to no avail?

Those flat "crab caps" have notorious cross firing problems. Be sure to use a quality cap and NOT automotive. We've gone with replacing the plastic distributors with the billet MSD marine units and have had zero problems.
