    GAS Leak

I have a tige switch I, under the back bench seat there is an empty compartment ( similar to battery compartment on other side) when cleaning the boat after two days on the lake the carpet in that compartment was soaked in what smelt like gas. the only gas line running any where near this is the gas vent / overflow?? ( im not sure what its called or what it does) the hose running above the compartment goes directly to the gas "vent" and has what seems to be a inline filter of valve. Does anyone know how i can trouble shoot this problem????

On that side is the tank vent hose and I beleive it contains a role over valve. Look for any kind of stains from the hose and connections and also make sure that the hose doesnt dip or other wise it will create a trap and not vent the tank possibly cause it to leak . I own a 2004 6.0 l switch i . Dom@ Fortes Inboard Connection 1 888 517 3178.

thanks for the help. when you say "dip" are talking about sag in the line. should it be running straight and taunt?

What he's saying is that there needs to be a clear unobstructed path for the vent to work properly. If you have a dip, it's similar to the 'P' trap in your sink drain, gas would collect there and prevent the tank from venting properly.

Dog, you "P" in your sink?

Remember also that if you store your boat with the bow up, (on a hill, etc.) you can get fuel over flow when it gets hot. So crank the trailer jack down a bit if you need to.

                      Definately a Denver fan!

We prefer to think of it as fresh, clean, mountain air!

Actually I live clear out in eastern Colorado by Kansas & Nebraska so I have to deal with both KC and Husker fans.

They're almost as bad as Oklahoma or Texas fans!

                          Should get interesting!
